JSNA
The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) is a process that identifies the current and future health and wellbeing needs of a local population. Doncaster’s JSNA is now part of the work programme of the Health and Wellbeing Shadow Board. Joint Strategic Needs Assessment reports are used by the shadow board to identify priorities for action, and to inform the writing of the local health and wellbeing strategy.
The Health and Social Care Act 2012 moved responsibility for the production of the JSNA from the Primary Care Trust (PCT) to the local authority. The reports, nevertheless, remain a collaboration between the NHS, local authority and other interested parties.
The JSNA is produced by the Doncaster Data Observatory.
