Enterprising Doncaster is a private-sector led partnership that takes a lead on steering the economic direction in Doncaster.

The Enterprising Doncaster Board is one of five sub Boards of Doncaster’s Local Strategic Partnership, the Discover the Spirit Board. The newly restructured private sector led board recognises the role the business community can play in influencing the development of Doncaster’s economic strategy and driving Doncaster’s future economic success.

The Enterprising Doncaster Board’s mission is;

“To understand and represent the needs of existing and potential businesses in the region in order to provide guidance to the DtS Board and associated partners as to where to direct their resources so as to achieve Doncaster's economic priorities and drive the economic success of the town”.

The Board is made up of a Chair and two Vice Chairs, six further private sector Champions and six members representing key economic partners. Each Champion takes lead responsibility for a specific theme within Doncaster's Economic Strategy, approved 21st February 2011.

The Champions appointed are all experienced , knowledgeable business people with a passion and drive for Doncaster, to make it economically vibrant and a great place to do business.  The role of thematic champion includes;

• Commitment to the effective delivery of Doncaster's Economic Strategy

• Becoming an ambassador for Doncaster

• Promoting best practice , joint working and positive collaboration with partners and stakeholders

• Encouraging innovation and positive change within the theme

• Developing effective relationships to ensure current issues and developments are understood

• Articulating barriers and issues for business

• Sharing Success and good news 

Consultative Fora

The consultative fora is made up of all members of Enterprising Doncaster, including a majority of private sector members, with representatives from public and voluntary sectors.
